One of the advantages of using our firm is that there is very little chance of conflict. A great many practices, by virtue of the sheer number of M&A and public listing work that they have been involved in, are invariably run into conflict of interest situations, which are sometimes managed by “Chinese Walls”. This, however, is far from ideal.
Our firm is also happy to accept referrals from other law firms where they feel that they are conflicted out of a matter, especially by virtue of being unable to act for organisations that happen to use the same law firm.
In such circumstances, we pledge that, once the transaction is completed, we make no further overtures to the client to avail ourselves of work from that source.
